You know what? We're a web design company, and we read a lot of blogs about web design. So, we thought we'd share some of what we're reading. Below are some great resources for web designers or even those who are just interested in web design. Not only are they helpful, but they have pretty designs, too!
This certainly isn't an exhaustive list, but it's some of the ones that keep our attention. If you have a site or two to add, why not drop 'em in the comments.
A List Apart is, by most all measures, the most significant web design blog on the internet. The site is dedicated to promoting web standards and features regular articles that are advanced, yet practical.

If you read our blog regularly, you know how much we love Smashing Magazine. If you are in any way at all even remotely interested in web design, you should be subscribed to this blog. They are highly regarded as one of the leading blogs in this field and there is no one better at putting together monster lists of resources that scream to be bookmarked.

Vitamin declares it is a "resource for web designers, developers, and entrepreneurs." Its quality articles tend to be fairly lengthy and intermediate to advanced in their targeted skill levels. Vitamin is a huge resource with archives searchable by topic. It is a must read for web designers.

Design Meltdown takes an interesting approach of combining helpful information and tips with a design gallery. The site is broken into chapters where a topic is discussed and lots of website examples relating to that topic are displayed. This unique site takes the popular gallery concept to a new and more helpful level.

BoDo provides a lot of helpful articles about the business side of design work. This site is especially helpful for freelancers and those who run businesses related to web design.

Veerle's blog is the work of a graphic / web designer living in Belgium. It features one of those ultra-hip subdomain-ish URLs, an extra cute design, and a lot of great thoughts about design and web design.

CSS Globe is a community-driven news site that provides a stream of great articles related to CSS and web standards. You can even register and contribute your own article content if you wish.

Behance is a unique site that takes a look at "productive creativity," in other words, the way to get creative things done. Their niche is encouraging and equipping creatives to take their great ideas forward.

Stylegala is a quintessential design gallery website that also publishes web design news and helpful articles.

The aptly named Graphic Design Blog is the work of a freelance graphic designer in the UK. It produces some interesting articles about all aspects of design, beyond just web design. One intriguing offering of Graphic Design Blog is their "freelancer focus" series in which they spotlight various freelancers in the world of design.
