Hooray for April! Especially the first of April. This is a time when people on the web think up "funny" things to try and trick people. I'll admit that I have been fooled once or twice, but I attribute the gullibility to my belief that everything on the internet is 100% true. You probably guessed it by now that my "free" website giveaway in the headline was just a silly ploy, and quite a clever and funny one at that, if I do say so myself. Have fun today and don't believe much of what you read.
Here is a look at some of the April Fool's Day internet fun. A few of these even tricked some people up here (but I won't name names):
- Gmail Custom Time - Just click "Set custom time" from the compose view. Any email you send
to the past appears in the proper chronological order in your
recipient's inbox. You can opt for it to show up read or unread by
selecting the appropriate option.
- Betamax to HD-DVD Converter - For only $29.99, you can now archive all those old Betamax tapes in
that box from your parent's basement directly to HD-DVD media. Everything on the ThinkGeek page is funny today.
- Google Calendar "I'm Feeling Lucky" button - name an event on Google Calendar and click the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button.
- Youtube- Go ahead and click on one of the Featured Videos.
Here is a very complete list of April Fool's Day pranks for 2008.
