Bill Seaver at MicroExplosion makes a pretty good case for the concept of allowing your website visitors to interact and leave feedback on your website in his post "Can people leave feedback on your site?" The data he cites deals initially with online stores and how feedback from fellow shoppers can give confidence to other shoppers and increase sales. But, he goes to discuss how the concept can be brought into most any organization or business website, especially through blogging and comments.
I'm in total agreement with Bill about the significance of allowing users to provide feedback to your website. It's one of the reasons that the blog element in our content management systems is so popular and critical. I've written before about the power of having a blog integrated right into your primary website on our Water, Sky, and Light CMS systems, but the opportunity for comments is yet another benefit to such an arrangement.
Two things:
- Think about starting a blog and giving your site visitors the chance to interact.
- Why not leave a comment here on our blog. Comments are turned on and ready for action.
