Me: How did you get started in the field of internet marketing?

Justin: I started in the Internet Marketing field in 2001. I owned a small company that developed an online system to manage real estate websites and agents' property listings. Internet Marketing was by far the cheapest advertising medium and the most effective way to measure ROI compared to other advertising methods.

Me: What exactly is Internet marketing anyway and how does it help people?

Justin: Internet Marketing is the use of the Internet, search engines and vertical marketing, to bring better awareness about a company’s goods or services. At Element Fusion we have two programs to help with Internet Marketing: Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Advertising.

Internet Marketing helps people develop a larger customer base than they could with traditional marketing. A website is not bound to a geographical area and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To my mind, your website is the hardest working employee you will ever have and with the right investments by far the most profitable.

Me: What do you love most about being the Internet Marketing Director for Element Fusion?

Justin: I love the fact that I get to help businesses achieve their overall website goal which is (or should be) to increase awareness of their goods or services through online mediums. This includes search engine rankings, vertical markets, directories and various other resources. Too often clients take the approach of if we build it they will come.

Me: What is your favorite search engine and why?

Justin: Google is my favorite search engine because they are the giants of the search engine world. They provide very accurate results without the clutter you deal with using the other major search engines. 

Me: Would you recommend internet marketing as a career choice? What advice do you have for someone who may want to pursue a career in internet marketing?

Justin: Internet marketing is a great career choice for anyone who likes researching and learning new things. Search engines are constantly changing their algorithms to deliver the most accurate results to online searchers. In our industry internet marketers must be on top of the latest trends and make sure they capitalize whenever new opportunities open up or adjust whenever current strategies are no longer working.
