Farewell, fair HEATWAVE. Thank you for the memories. You brought us lots of really hot, sunny days and also a whole bunch of new CMS features.
That's right, folks, the HEATWAVE has concluded with a spectacular finish. It took a good number of us working up to the last minute (and then some), but the fireworks went off only slightly (about 2.5 hours) behind the scheduled time. The changes were pushed out live around 10:30am CDT and things are looking good. If you encounter any issues, large or small, please be sure to let us know as soon as possible by emailing our support team.
So what's new?
In our last post, we detailed all that was planned for the HEATWAVE finale. You might want to take a read through that if you haven't already. In this post, I'm going to provide a bit more information and instruction on how you can get started using these new features. Then, you can look forward to more detailed posts to come in the future that will continue to unpack the goodness of what has just been delivered.
New templates, new design manager, and Design Xpress
Login to your account, select My Website --> Designs from the newly redesign toolbar, and click on the Design Gallery. There, you'll get a look at all of the new designs available for your website, plus a fabulous new way to navigate them. Click a design and you'll be able to view thumbnails of all templates in that design.
These beautiful new templates are now available for our new Design Xpress service. To order Design Xpress, just go to My Website --> Designs and click "Design Services." You can order Design Xpress directly from that page. For $495, you can customize the design template of your choice with your own logo, images, contact information and more. If you are a LightCMS reseller, this option is also available for you to use for your own clients.
Drag and drop elements
Click the control bar of any element and drag it to reorder it or even move it between regions. Amazing!
Brand new front-end marketing websites for WaterCMS, SkyCMS and LightCMS
They are all up and running, though there is still some clean-up going on. We'll be adding featured videos to the home pages of each product. LightCMS's video is up and running today. SkyCMS and WaterCMS videos will follow shortly. We'll also be adding a host of other videos on the features pages in the weeks ahead.
Dynamically updated marketing materials for features and pricing
We've set up the features list and the pricing grid (which you can view on the WaterCMS, SkyCMS or LightCMS websites) to be replicable to any website via a javascript snippet. Unfortunately, this is not quite ready for release. While the functionality is active, we are still working on creating the styling solution necessary to make things look decent out of the box when you drop this onto your pages. We also want to provide you the ability to override with your own styles if you wish. So, please be patient with us as we wrap that up and we will post full details on this feature as soon as it is available.
User interface refresh
Just login to any website on the system and you'll see the new icons, new control bars and top toolbars, as well as overhauled stylings on the account level sections such as Designs and My Account. As we said before, usability should be consistent with the previous version, but if you do have any questions or issues, please let us know.
Form builder entry management
Hover over the edit menu on any form element and select "manage entries." This will take you to a screen where you can view all of the entries in your form in a paginated view. You can edit or delete individual entries or even delete all entries. Also, note the "Download Excel" option in the form edit menu -- that's new as well. Hooray!
SSL support on Icebrrg
This feature is available on Icebrrg accounts at the $24/month level and above. Turn on security for your forms by selecting form settings, then advanced settings. Simply check the "secure form" checkbox. Remember, forms on CMS websites do not need this feature as SSL security is already available for any page on any website on our CMS system.
Even more speed enhancements
Yep, it runs faster, especially on larger websites.
Dramatically increased storage limits
Is your website feeling a little roomier? That's because your storage limits were upgraded by anywhere from 100% to 600% depending on your package level. Nice.
So what's next?
Well, some of our team will be fine tuning and unpacking this release in the days and weeks to come, while others will be starting on even more new features. Actually, we may already have some new features in the works, you never know. But that's for another day because today we say goodbye to the HEATWAVE. Thanks for the good times, old friend.
