As a part of Element Fusion' ten year anniversary celebration this year, we've launched a special giveaway through our LightCMS product. We're giving away an iPad every weekday for the next ten days. That's right! 10 iPads in 10 days.

Entering the giveaway is simple, but it does require that you have a public (non-protected) Twitter account. If you're on Twitter, simply tweet the following content on the days you wish to enter:

Win 1 of 10 iPads from @LightCMS - RT to enter or read more http://lightcms.com/iPad

Every day at 4pm CDT, we'll select a winner at random from that day's entries. To get all of the details about the giveaway, including a full FAQ to answer your questions, just check out the official giveaway page.

  • Subscribe to the LightCMS blog

With the launch of our new LightCMS content management system website, we are also launching a new LightCMS blog. Up to this point, we've posted everything related to LightCMS alongside our other content here on the Element Fusion blog. Now, we'll be splitting things up and posting LightCMS-related content separately on the LightCMS blog.

Be sure to subscribe to the LightCMS blog by RSS or by email so that you won't miss out on any updates. Again, if it's exclusively about LightCMS, it won't be showing up here on the Element Fusion blog anymore, so you'll want to be tuned into the new blog starting now. Of course, the Element Fusion blog will still be around bringing lots of great content about our other products, our company, and our services, so you'll want to keep an eye on it as well. Oh, and naturally, you'll also want to follow our Twitter feeds for Element Fusion and LightCMS.

Thanks again and we look forward to bringing you even more great content through both of our blogs in the years to come.

  • All-new LightCMS website

Today, we're happy to launch our brand new product website for the LightCMS content management system for designers. This beautiful new design was created by our Creative Director, Amine Ouahidi. Here's a look at the top of the new home page.

This is version four of the LightCMS website. Some points of interest from a design perspective include the fact that it utilizes the 960 grid system in its 12 column grid format. Also notable is the white background. This is the first LightCMS product website to utilize a white background. The pricing page is also completely reworked. We've moved away from using the reseller pricing grid we make available to resellers (though we will still maintain the grid and we still utilize it on our retail product sites) in favor of a new layout that hits on more LightCMS-specific content.

On the home page, you'll want to take a look at the all-new overview video at the top right. The video has been completely reworked and we even brought in professional voice talent to replace my meager voice this time. :)

All in all, we're super excited about the new site. Not just the design, but all of the new content and features. We'll be focusing more on some of these new features in future posts. Be sure to stay tuned to this blog, and the all-new LightCMS blog, for more details.

  • LightCMS touted as "warm and fuzzy"

We'd like to say thanks to Steve Reed at Suspended Studios for a little write up he posted on his blog called "LightCMS gives me the warm and fuzzies." That title, and the article, made us smile. Steve shows the welcome email that our LightCMS marketing consultant, Ashley Humphreys, sends out to people who sign up for a free account on LightCMS and explains how that email offered him an unexpected personal touch that gave him a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. He has some very nice things to say about our approach and it was great to hear his comments.

Thanks, Steve, for the kind words. We hope that everyone gets a warm and fuzzy feeling when they think of LightCMS :)

  • Performance enhancements and new system status page

We've recently been working hard on some issues related to system performance. There's nothing more important to us than the reliability and speed of our applications, and we know it's important to you as well. So, we wanted to fill you in on some improvements we've made over the past month.

    Random slowness issue resolved

First off, we've corrected an issue in our LightCMS, WaterCMS, and SkyCMS products that was causing random and occasional slowdowns. These episodes would result in pages taking longer than normal to load. You may have never even experienced this issue, but just in case you did, we wanted to let you know that it has been resolved.

This occasional slowness was caused by an issue in one of our vendors' third party applications, and was in no way related to the capabilities of our hosting infrastructure or our applications. We worked with experts at all of our vendor companies as well as outside contractors to resolve this issue. Now that it has been corrected, system performance is solid and lightning-fast with plenty of server headroom at all times.

Nonetheless, we continue to work hard to stay two steps ahead in supporting our growth. LightCMS in particular has gained a ton of popularity lately, resulting in continually increasing traffic loads. You can be sure that we are prepared to continue scaling up as needed to stay ahead of the demand.

    Performance enhancements

As a part of the process of digging through the system in search of the above-mentioned issue, we have made and continue to make tweaks and changes to improve system performance. The result is that things are running faster than ever and will continue to improve in the future.

    New system status page

Finally, in an effort to better communicate with you about performance-related issues, we've created a system status page. This page will serve as a one-stop location for information related to performance and uptime on all of our company's products. You can view the page here:

    http://status.elementfusion.com

We'll be posting information about any performance-related issues as we have it available in order to keep you up to speed on what is happening. So, if you have a concern about performance on one of our products, you can check this page to get your information first hand.

    Great days ahead

We've got some great plans for more improvements and features to come in the weeks and months ahead so stay tuned. As always, we appreciate your support of our company and our products.

  • LightCMS: built for your business

LightCMS is built to help your business succeed. Want to know more? We've launched a new video about it on the LightCMS website. You can find the video on our resellers page or our video page. Or, you can just watch it below. Enjoy!

  • Introducing the billing system built for you and your clients

Over the past three years, we've launched an enormous number of improvements to our suite of content management products, but today's release is quite possibly the most significant improvement to date. Not only because we've completely redeveloped the way the system processes payments and lets you interact with your account, but also because we've taken another huge step forward in our support of web designers around the world.

Built to support your web design business

The decisions we make about our software products aren't based on what's new or trendy. They aren't based on a desire to provide every type of functionality available. Rather, they are based on our time-tested experience in growing a successful web design business and our understanding of what it takes to make such a business succeed. It is that motivation which has led us to develop an amazingly powerful billing system and to offer it at no cost to every customer on LightCMS.

That's right — no cost. Accounts on LightCMS are free. There's no set-up fee or commitment of any kind to use our software. And now, bundled into every one of those free accounts, is the option to let us handle your client website billing for you. It can save you a ton of time and effort, which is what LightCMS is all about.

Time to take a look inside

We invite you to take a look at the all new billing system. Simply login to your website and click "My Account" on the top toolbar. Then, take a look around and let us know what you think. If you don't have a LightCMS account yet, you can create one for free in just about a minute.

In the days to come, we'll be posting more details about various aspects of the new system. Stay tuned for that. For now, if you're looking for more specifics, you can review our preview of client billing from a few weeks ago.

  • New feature preview: automated client billing

We've mentioned our new billing and account management system casually over the last few months, but today, we're giving our first "official" preview of what's about to be launched. There is a lot of stuff involved in the coming release but in this post, we're going to focus on the biggest new feature — automated client billing. This functionality will be available exclusively on LightCMS.

A preview of the website detail page in the new billing system (using sample data).

    What is Automated Client Billing?

LightCMS has always given you the ability to manage all your client websites within a single account, but this new release makes huge improvements in the way you manage them. To this point, all websites under your account have been billed to a single credit card. The idea has been that we charge you our discounted rate and you bill your clients whatever you wish through your own billing system.

Automated client billing now offers you another option. You can choose to bill an individual website to a client's credit card directly. You set the price that the client pays and we pay you commission on the difference between our discounted price and the price you set.

If you bill my clients directly, won't they find out about LightCMS or Element Fusion?

No. We'll be running all CMS charges through a generic entity and that entity's name will show up on your clients' statements. You'll just want to tell them to expect charges from this new entity for their website service. We've even set up a website on the new entity's domain to help explain the charges in a non-branded way in case they have questions. Oh, and the entity's website's domain utilizes private registration as well.

How much commission can I earn?

With automated client billing, you decide how much commission you'll earn. That's because you set the pricing for the websites under your account. Our base pricing always stays the same, so the higher you set your pricing, the higher your commissions will be. If you utilize our suggested retail pricing, you'll earn around 35% commission on every website, every month. Of course, you can set your commissions higher or lower if you wish.

How do I receive my commissions?

Once you have websites paying through client billing, your profits will accumulate in what we like to call "your money pile." You'll see your money pile on most of the pages in your account management console. Whenever you're ready to withdraw them, you can simply click on "withdraw funds" and we'll send them to you by PayPal. PayPal is the only option (for now), so you'll need an account to withdraw your funds.

Do I have to use client billing?

No. When we roll out the new features, all of your websites will continue to bill to your account. You will have to manually change them to client billing if you choose to do so. You can move any number of your sites to client billing and the rest of your sites will remain billed to your account. You can also change a website back and forth between client billing and account billing whenever you wish.

Can my clients upgrade / downgrade their own websites?

Yes, if you choose to let them. You'll have to login to the account section and set up the names and prices for your website plans. Once you do that, clients who are being billed individually will be able to login and upgrade / downgrade their website. The pricing and plan names they see will be what you set for them to see. Also, clients who have free websites under your account will be able to upgrade themselves to one of your paid plans if they wish (you can turn off this functionality if you want). We'll cover more on how this works as we get closer to launch. Plus, it's all explained very clearly inside the new interface.

    What else is new?

There's an improved user interface across the entire account management section; a simplified, filterable listing of all websites under your account; a full detail page for each of your websites; the ability to delete or disable any website under your account; detailed listings of billing activity for your account and for each client-billed website; and much more. We'll be sharing more about all of these features in the days ahead.

Enough already! When's it going live?

We know that many of your have been looking forward to this for a while, as have we! We are very, very close, but we want to be cautious about putting hard dates out there in case something unexpected happens that pushes things back. That said, we are unofficially and tentatively planning to launch everything on Thursday, June 11th, 2009. Again, that date might change so please don't make any plans around it. We're simply providing it to keep you in the loop on our plans.

  • Vandelay Design Blog publishes tutorial about getting started with LightCMS

This week, Vandelay Design, a web design company out of New Jersey, published a very comprehensive tutorial of our LightCMS product on their popular web design blog. We were delighted to see this article, entitled "How to Set Up Your First Site with LightCMS," which does a very thorough job of explaining LightCMS and showing the simple process of integrating a design onto the system. If you haven't seen it, please take a look.

We want to say thanks to Steven Snell and Vandelay Design for taking the time to publish this article. There is a lot of great insight here, especially for designers just getting to know the LightCMS system.

  • Updating your reseller scripts to work with the new LightCMS packages

Today, we took live the LightCMS pricing plan changes that were announced on Tuesday. All existing websites on the LightCMS system had their pages, users, storage and pricing updated to reflect the new plans. In addition, you will now see the all-new ADVANCED plan as an option when you go to upgrade a website under your account.

I don't see the new ADVANCED plan in my reseller script!

Don't worry, if you're using our reseller pricing grid scripts, you won't see the new ADVANCED plan added. In order to avoid "breaking" your scripts by adding in a new package for which you haven't set your own pricing or name, we decided to leave the old reseller pricing script intact as is. We did update the storage and users on the PLUS and PRO plans to their new levels, but those are the only changes you should see in the old script. This script will now stay as it is for all time. Please note this means it will not be updated with any new features or changes from this point forward.

So, you'll want to upgrade to our new script which will display the new ADVANCED package and will continue to be updated automatically as new features are added or other changes are made. Luckily, it's very easy to update your script. You just need to do two things:

    1. Change the script reference from "ResellerPricingGrid.js" to "ResellerPlans.js"
    2. If you are setting custom pricing or custom package names, you'll need to modify those to include the ADVANCED plan (you'll now be setting six packages instead of five).
For full details, you can see our support article on using the reseller pricing script. We've updated the article with the new information so if you follow the instructions there, you should have no problem. But, if you still have questions, just let us know.

  • LightCMS announces new packages, lower pricing

For over a year, we've been soliciting and evaluating your feedback about the pricing packages on LightCMS. Today, we're announcing some major improvements in response to the feedback we've received.

    Behold, the new packages

Here's a quick look at the new package layout. We'll dive further into the changes below.

    Bridging the gap

We're introducing the ADVANCED plan to smooth the gap between PLUS and PRO. Now, you have a whole new option for your websites giving you up to 50 pages, 3 GB of storage and 5 users. Storage and users on this new plan are at the levels previously seen on our PRO plan, yet at a cost of $20 less per month.

    More value

We've added one extra user to our PLUS plan at no extra cost. All PLUS level websites can now make use of LightCMS's advanced permission features by allowing another person to login and edit or view specific content on the website. Our PRO plan is also gaining added value with a 100% increase in storage capacity (up to 6 GB) and a 100% increase in users (up to 10 users). All with no increase in monthly cost.

    Reduced pricing for PREMIER websites

To top it all off, we're lowering the price of our PREMIER plan by nearly 25%, to $99/month. All PREMIER websites on LightCMS will have their cost reduced automatically when the changes go live. Plus, this makes the unlimited pages and users, and the huge 12 GB storage capacity of PREMIER even more accessible for you and your clients.

    Everything's included

Remember that every plan, at every price, includes all of our features. Every plan gets the support of our 10 year old, debt-free, solid company. Every plan gets free, super-reliable hosting in our Tier IV datacenter that's ready to handle whatever traffic you can generate. Every plan gets hassle-free website management with a system that's designed with the clear goal of helping you build your business.

Going live on Thursday, May 7th, 2009

The new pricing will be implemented on Thursday, May 7th, 2009 at 9am Central Daylight Time (GMT -5). At that time, all existing LightCMS websites will be updated to reflect the changes and our new ADVANCED package will become available as well.

About the reseller pricing grid scripts

If you're using our reseller pricing grid scripts to display packages and pricing on your website, the ADVANCED plan will not be added to the output of your script. Instead, we'll be releasing a new script which will include the new package (and all of the other packages) in its output. So, it will be up to you to decide when and if you want to replace your script and add the new package to your offerings. However, your current script will be updated to reflect the changes in storage and users on the PLUS and PRO plans, since those changes will go into effect on Thursday.

    Thanks to you!

We're so excited to bring you these pricing and package changes. We're happy to say that throughout our history, we've never raised our CMS pricing and now we're able to offer our product at an even better value. Thank you all for the feedback over the years. We take it all very seriously and look forward to our continued relationship as your CMS partner.

  • SXSW 2009 wrap up and pics

We're all back from Austin now and busily trying to catch up on everything from the last week. Our participation in the SXSW Interactive tradeshow was an outstanding experience. We are very pleased to have met so many new people and to have the opportunity to show LightCMS to them. Thanks to the hundreds of you who came by our booth and took the time to check out LightCMS.

We also enjoyed spending time with some of our existing LightCMS customers who were in the area. What fun to finally put some faces with the names we know so well.

We received a lot of very positive feedback and we also got a lot of great ideas for ways to continue enhancing the product. One thing is for sure — the best days for LightCMS are still ahead. We see a very bright future for this product and our other products and, as always, we are committed to their continued development and support.

If you have any questions or suggestions for us, please just let us know. You can drop them on our LightCMS user forum or email them to support@publishpath.com.

I've pasted in some pictures from SXSW below for all to enjoy.

Here's a look at the booth before things opened, with our lovely "Web designers are sexy" shirt displayed out front.

Here's a look at the booth in full swing. Ashley's demoing in the "sit down" station, Amine is on the iMac, and I'm just talking my head off about a brochure. Andrea was there too, but she's taking the picture. The crazy (and wonderful) thing is it was busy like this almost all the time.

This doesn't really have anything to do with us, but Google's booth was next door and you can see here all of the crates involved in tearing down their setup when the show was over. You can see that Ashley is nearly drowning in crates. Scary.

  • Follow LightCMS on Twitter

We've been Twittering on our Element Fusion twitter account (@efstatus) for a while now and it's truly become an integral part of our communication. Thanks to all of you who regularly follow and interact with us. If you're not following yet, please join the fun.

This week, we launched a second Twitter account. This one is specifically for LightCMS (@LightCMS). This product has grown and continues to grow so rapidly, we felt like it was time it took on a Twitter-life of its own. Ashley, our dedicated LightCMS consultant, will be contributing to the @LightCMS account, along with others from the Element Fusion team.

So, please follow @LightCMS on Twitter for conversations relating specifically to LightCMS, resellers, design, and whatever else emerges. Feel free to communicate with us if you have any questions, recommendations, suggestions ... etc. We look forward to talking with you on Twitter.

Of course, @efstatus will still be here, bringing you company news, happenings and information about all of our other products. So, following and interacting with both is always a great idea.

    Happy Twittering!

  • Web designers are sexy: win the shirt on Twitter

Introducing the all-new LightCMS limited edition T-shirt.

    also available in charcoal gray

We know what you're thinking — "I must have one." Well, if you're at SXSW Interactive next week, you can swing by the LightCMS booth to claim one as your own. A few will also be given away at OpenBeta to the presenters and award winners there.

    Win the shirt on Twitter

So, you're not going to be at SXSW or OpenBeta and you still want a shirt? We've got your covered. We're giving away five shirts on Twitter over this upcoming week. Here's what you do for a chance to win:

    Tweet something about LightCMS

That's it! Just include "LightCMS" in your tweet and you'll have a chance to win that day's shirt. We'll select a winner from all of the qualifying tweets each day. Oh, and we're giving away shirts on Friday (March 6), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each day is a new chance to win. You'll need to send out a tweet on that day to be eligible for the day's prize (tweets over the weekend will count toward Monday's prize and tweets today count toward Friday's prize).

Make sense? Great! We'll see you on Twitter. And extra points for you if you help us spread the word about this giveaway (those extra points aren't really worth anything, but still ...).

  • Element Fusion announces dedicated LightCMS consultant

It's an exciting time for LightCMS. Each week, more and more designers are setting up accounts and deploying websites using LightCMS. Development on our upcoming features is in full throttle. And now, we're announcing the addition of a dedicated LightCMS consultant, Ashley Humphreys.

Many of you already know Ashley. She's a Senior Consultant at Element Fusion and she's been with us for over two years now. During that time, she's worked with lots of clients, including many of you, with great success. One of her passions is working with designers and resellers on the LightCMS platform. Now Ashley's role will be 100% dedicated to LightCMS, giving all of its customers, designers, and resellers access to her insights on how to get up and running and find success.

Ashley will be a part of our group heading down to South by Southwest in March. So, if you use LightCMS, or if you're thinking about LightCMS, or even if you've never heard of LightCMS but would like to know more, be sure to stop by our booth and meet Ashley, LightCMS's newest dedicated consultant.

  • LightCMS and Obama

Since President Obama's campaign started we have had more than a few people compare our LightCMS logo to the Obama logo. We have always taken the comparisons as a compliment since the Obama campaign was one of the most successful marketing campaigns ever. I thought we'd take a closer look at the logos here on the blog. They are posted side-by-side below for you to compare.

Of course, a few have suggested that we somehow ripped off Obama's logo for LightCMS. But that's just not possible. The LightCMS logo was created in early 2006, well before the Obama campaign launched on February 10, 2007.  You can see the earliest LightCMS site, captured by the Wayback Machine on August 21st, 2006 at the following link:

    http://web.archive.org/web/20060821162320/http://www.lightcms.com

I'll admit, I'm mostly just posting this on the blog so that I can just send this link to people whenever they ask me about it, instead of having to type this information out over and over. But it is also fun to take a look at these logos side by side. What do you think?

  • LightCMS marketing website featured as example of clear and effective communication

The online design magazine, Smashing Magazine, has once again featured one of our products in a recent post. Their February 3rd article entitled "Clear and Effective Communication in Web Design" features the LightCMS marketing website as an example alongside a few other excellent websites and web products. Take a look at this extremely thorough article and scroll down to section 4.1, "Prioritize" and you'll find LightCMS.

Thanks to Smashing Magazine for the mention. We appreciate it!

  • LightCMS Case Study: Caffeinated Studio

Caffeinated Studio is a Dallas / Fort Worth based ad agency and graphic design firm that uses LightCMS to provide simple and powerful web content management for its clients. Caffeinated Studio promo graphicWe've greatly enjoyed working with them and asked if they would mind sharing a little bit about their experience with LightCMS with you. They agreed. Here's a brief interview I had with Brad Parnell, Senior Designer for Caffeinated Studio.

First off, tell us about your business.

Caffeinated Studio opened its doors in 2005 as a client-driven company that focuses on great design and great relationships with our clients. From interactive elements such as websites and film, to traditional ad agency services such as branding campaigns and collateral development, we take pride in infusing our client’s projects with high energy and visual and technical elegance. Our greatest strength is our ability to seamlessly blend aesthetic creativity with the practical business objectives of any project. We’re pragmatic about our work; it must be beautiful, but it must also work for the client.

How does LightCMS help you better meet your clients' needs?

Our clients can now update their own websites with little or no training sessions, no software installs needed, and without worrying about messing up the layout or design framework we’ve already established for them. It lets us focus on the design, and gives the client more control over content.

What did you do before using LightCMS

Before the God-send of LightCMS we either built our own PHP or Ruby on Rails content management systems from the ground up, or had to update all of our clients content for them, which involved billing the client to change a paragraph of text, or add a new upcoming event. We just didn’t feel right about that.

Could you tell us a specific story about a project or situation where LightCMS helped you out?

We focus on one philanthropic project each year, and donate / deliver a custom designed website. For our most recent project, we were working on something that needed the functionality of a full-blown CMS. We were planning on building it from scratch. Not fun. But we switched to LightCMS and were able to quickly integrate it and deliver everything the organization needed and more.

Do you have any tips or tricks for other LightCMS users?

    1. Don’t let the functionality of the CMS determine your design. Create a great design first then use the functionality as a tool.
    2. Not every section of the website has to be dynamic and editable and you don’t have to overload each page with every element available.
    3. Sometimes it helps to explain the blog tool as a company news tool. Some clients don’t get too excited with the thought of a blog on their site, mostly because they have some general misconceptions about a “blog” and they can’t understand why they would need one on their site. So be creative with how you can use and name different elements.

What would you say to another designer or agency that was considering using LightCMS?

It’s a great tool to add functionality to great design. Clients love it and you will love it. Once you have one client up and running on it, that’s all it takes to be hooked.

    Anything else?

The HTML Xpress team is great, if you want to focus on design and not worry about coding the HTML and CSS, I highly recommend their services. You will be very satisfied with the end result.

  • We'd love to get your feedback on LightCMS

One thing we can never get enough of is user feedback. Many of you often take the time to send us an email, or a post to our forum, or publish a tweet here and there about our products and we are always grateful for that. But, to make things a little easier and hopefully encourage even more feedback, we've created a new feedback form on the LightCMS website. Would you take the time to fill it out? Maybe even come back from time to time and submit it again as you have new ideas. We would really appreciate it if you would share your ideas with us.

Of course, we can't promise that every idea will make it into production. But, we can promise that we will seriously consider every thought that is shared.

Oh, and we encourage your feedback no matter how much or how little you use LightCMS. Whether you're just checking it out or you have tons of websites running on it, your thoughts are valuable. So, click the link below to visit the form and send in your thoughts at any time.

    http://www.lightcms.com/feedback

  • Submit your designs to the new LightCMS gallery

We've launched a new version of the LightCMS gallery on the LightCMS marketing website. This gallery displays screen shots in a list view and a larger, detail view. It also uses our blog element, which gives you the ability to subscribe to the gallery by RSS so you can stay updated when we add new sites.

Submit your designs to the gallery

If you've designed websites that are running on LightCMS, we'd love to consider your design work for inclusion in our gallery. You can now submit your own sites for consideration. Just fill out our submission form. If included, your work will be featured along with your name, company name and a link to your own website, if you wish. This can be a great chance to showcase your work to a large and growing design community, in addition to getting some great link juice from our LightCMS website.

Keep in mind that we don't include every site in our gallery, but we will consider every submission. We're looking to include the best examples we can find to demonstrate the design flexibility of LightCMS. So, send us your work and we'll take a look.

  • Update to embedding our unbranded video content

A couple of weeks ago, we announced our new CMS Demos show on Blip.tv which houses the unbranded marketing videos we create and make available for you to use as a reseller (for more information, please review our original post). Well, we've made a slight enhancement to our system by adding a second show, CMS Tutorials.

Both shows contain unbranded videos that are available for you to use on your own sites. The CMS Demos show will house marketing-related feature overviews while the CMS Tutorials show will house support-oriented videos on how to use the system. Separating these two types of content will allow you to better control the user experience on your site. So, you'll likely want to subscribe to them both. You can use any content from either show however you see fit. We plan to add many more videos to both shows in the weeks, months and years to come.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Photo Gallery Slideshow tutorial will be moved from the CMS Demos show to the new CMS Tutorials show. If you previously embedded this particular video, you will need to re-embed it from its new location. We will be removing the video from the old location at the end of day tomorrow (Tuesday, November 25th). We apologize for this inconvenience. This is a unique situation and this type of re-embedding should not be required in the future.

  • Resellers: access and embed our unbranded videos directly

Resellers, as you know, we've started creating some unbranded video content to demonstrate the CMS system. This content provides you a simple way to use our video marketing work to promote the CMS to your own clients. As we mentioned in a recent post, we are including feature demo videos inside our reseller features script, which gives you a way to drop a full features list onto your own web page complete with link that launch video demonstrations of features where available.

Yesterday, I published a new video tutorial on the blog. This is different than a feature demo and it won’t be included in the features list script. But, the content is still unbranded and could be helpful as you market the CMS to your clients.

    So, here’s what you do

In an effort to provide you a way to utilize this content outside of the context of the reseller scripts, and to utilize any video content that’s not included in the reseller scripts, we’ve set up an unbranded “show” on blip.tv (our video hosting provider). The show, simply called “CMS Demos,” will contain every unbranded feature demo, tutorial, and CMS-related video content that we produce. Here’s the link to our show page: cmsdemos.blip.tv

When you access the show page, you’ll notice that you can view the episode archive to browse available videos. You can also grab the embed code for any video to drop it onto your own website. In fact, if you want, you can even subscribe to the show and get episodes delivered to you as soon as they are released. This access gives you a lot of flexibility to use our video content how you want.

Note: as long as you use the blip-provided embed code to display the videos on your site, they will stay up to date, even if we later update the videos to reflect new UI changes, features, or for whatever reason.

Another note: you will know whether or not a video is included in the reseller feature list because any video that is included in this list will be prefaced with "Feature demo:" in its title.

    Enjoy

So, please feel free to utilize the video content found in our show in whatever way you wish to promote your CMS to your clients. The inventory of videos is minimal right now, but we plan to continue to add videos in the weeks and months and years to come.
