Here's some good stuff to read from the last week or so:
- Copy HTML Links with Firefox on Daily Blog Tips: This article highlights a couple of Firefox extensions that can make the job of copying and pasting links a lot faster. This would really help with posts like the one I'm writing here, but I haven't had time to implement it yet. I plan too soon, though.
- What to do when the domain name you want is gone from North x East: Here's a discussion of a few helpful, though somewhat obvious, ways to get around that age-old problem of securing the right domain name.
- A Preview of HTML 5 from A List Apart: I think the article title says it all. If you get excited thinking about HTML 5, then this article is definitely for you. If you have no idea what HTML 5 is, you should probably skip this one.
- Blogging to Improve a Website from Vandelay Website Design: This article hits on some themes we've discussed here on our blog before. Mainly, the advantages of having a blog on your main website rather than separate from it.
- Creating Sexy Stylesheets from Vitamin: If you think that CSS code in and of itself is cool-looking, then this article is for you.
- Search Illustrated: Search Engine Sitemaps from Search Engine Land: A nice little visual illustration of how XML sitemaps work. Remember, Water, Sky and Light websites have built in XML sitemaps for your search engine fun.
- Killing Some Bad Layout Conventions from Design View: See a few high-profile websites that, according to this author, are utilizing bad layouts.
- Keyboard Commands for Mac OS X: An Uber List from Design Adaptations: We've had some discussion here on the value of keyboard shortcuts, and we've also had some evidence of how mac people think that macs are way better than everything, so I thought this article brought the two themes together nicely and in a helpful way.
