This year, we've got two panels in the running to be included at SXSW 2009. We put these two panel ideas together because we think they hold a lot of value for the web design community. If you agree, you can support our nominations by casting your vote and even commenting on the SXSW panel picker website. See below for a few more details on the panels.
- How to Sell Websites on a Hosted CMS. This one is about sales and marketing — skills that are essential to any business whether you're a freelancer or a company. We get questions all of the time from our web designer clients and friends about how to build a business model that works around a hosted CMS platform. We believe the sales and marketing side of things is under-discussed and we would love to raise awareness. This would be a panel presentation, moderated by me, and featuring discussion from sales professionals and designers / companies who have found success through a hosted CMS solution.
- Basic Javascript Effects for Designers. This session would be taught by our own Creative Director, Jason Zimdars. Tailored to the accomplished designer with limited programming skills, Jason intends to practically show how to tap into the power of "write less, do more" Javascript libraries. This is a practical, how-to session that will benefit a wide-range of designers.
Click the titles above to visit the SXSW panel picker page for each session. There you can cast your vote and leave your comments. We'd love to hear your feedback and we hope to see you next year at SXSW.
