A couple of months ago, Google announced the roll out of their new Analytics tracking code. If you use Google Analytics on your website(s), this is something you definitely need to pay attention to. While the old code continues to work for now, they will be discontinuing it sometime in the future. Plus, the old code is no longer being updated with new features. To take advantage of any new features Google rolls out, you will have to be using the new Analytics code.
To change your code, simply login to your analytics account, click "edit" next to the website profile you want to change, and then click "check status" at the top right. This will take you to a page where the tracking codes are listed. You'll see the "Legacy Tracking Code" next to the "New Tracking Code." Just copy out the new code and paste it into your website's template pages. You'll want to be sure to replace the old code on your templates with the new code because Google does not recommend having both codes on a single page simultaneously.
If you tried to add the new code to a website running on our Water, Sky or LightCMS systems in the weeks immediately following Google's announcement, you may have encountered an error. We have corrected this error and ensured our system is compatible with the new code so you should now be able to add the new code to Water, Sky and LightCMS websites with no problems.
