Windows 7 launch party

As you might recall, when Apple's Snow Leopard operating system was released, we said to stay tuned for our Windows 7 launch coverage.  Well, today Microsoft threw the next blow in the operating system war by releasing Windows 7.  Microsoft was kind enough to send me a Windows 7 launch party kit.  The best part is that the kit included a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition.  We had a great time, but we didn't have near as much fun as these people did.

Below are some pictures we took of the event.  Out of respect to Windows 7, no one wanted to be in the pictures.

We got the party started.

Windows 7 comes with many weird artistic wallpapers and themes.

Close-up shot of the updated taskbar, which is one of the more obvious cosmetic changes you will see.

Everyone at the party left with a nice Windows 7 bag made from recycled plastic bags.

Currently we have two programmers who have fully made the switch to Windows 7.  They have seen a performance increase and are enjoying all of the new features.  Have you upgraded to Windows 7?  Are you going to?  Do you think Windows 7 is a step in the right direction, or is OS X the only operating system for you?

It's funny how that first image looks oddly similar to apple's itunes graphics :)

So was there only 1 person at this "party"? I don't see any other people around.

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Windows 7, and find the time to update. :) From all the reviews I have read, it looks to be much improved. Here's hoping!

No Windows 7 for me. It would take a miracle to pry me away from Mac OSX.

Had my copy since August 20th when the RTM dropped on MSDN. I like it. Had to un-install SQL Server 2008 before the upgrade, but other than that it went well.
