I knew it was a growing area, but I had no idea how much it had grown. But
Aloe Studios just put together a list of
29 cutup services (thanks for the recommendation of Light!), and they found of few of their services by looking at
Jonathan Snook's list of html/css services. This thing is just everywhere these days.
Anyway, the bottom line is that there are about a kabillion places starting to offer these quick, low cost services for converting designs into XHTML and CSS. It's pretty cool if you think about it. It's just another way that quality, standards-based web design is becoming more and more accessible, even to those who may not have the coding skills. Nice.
Light offers a service like this as well called HTML Xpress. But it's not really exactly the same thing. Our service actually cuts up a design AND implements it on our content management framework. But the cool thing about Light is that you could technically use any of these other services out there and have them do the same thing. Our documentation is published and anyone with XHTML / CSS skills should be able to get your design running on Light in no time.
So, there you have it. Light is pro all cutup services. Thanks to Aloe Studios for recognizing that and giving us a mention on their post. If you have any questions about all of this design cutup business, just let us know.
